Michigan law requires municipal clerks to hire election inspectors based on their political party affiliations. Based on the definition outlined in MCL 168.16, the Democratic Party and Republican Party are currently the two major political parties in the State. As required by law, the Clerk's Office will make a significant attempt to hire an equal number of Democrats and Republicans to serve as election inspectors. The hiring of individuals that identify with minor political parties or over-represented major political parties will be considered only after other legally-required options are exhausted. What is your political party affiliation?
