Residents can purchase a tree and plant it in the right-of-way or do maintenance and pruning, provided they submit a permit. Once you've submitted your permit request, DPW will review it and then contact you to inform you if the work has been approved.

If you submit a permit to remove a tree, there is a $100 fee for the application.

I, the undersigned, upon approval of this permit, hereby agree to abide by its terms and conditions and to cease work immediately if required by the Director of Public Works or his/her representative. I also acknowledge that I have read and understood all relevant sections of the City's tree ordinance.

The permit holder is required to notify the Public Works office (248) 546-2519 if the work for which the application is made changes in any way or will not be completed for any reason.
