Residents can purchase a tree and plant it in the right-of-way or do maintenance and pruning, provided they request a permit. Once the permit request is submitted, DPW will review it and inform you of the permit status within 10 business days of receiving the permit application." If a permit is submitted to remove a tree, there is a $100 fee upon approval. If a new tree is planted, the fee is waived.

I, the undersigned, upon approval of this permit, hereby agree to abide by its terms and conditions and to cease work immediately if required by the Director of Public Works or his/her representative. I also acknowledge that I have read and understood all relevant sections of the City's tree ordinance.
The permit holder is required to notify the Public Works office at (248) 546-2519 if the work for which the application is made changes in any way or will not be completed for any reason.
