Residents can purchase a tree on their own and plant it in the right of way. In most cases only one tree can be planted in the right of way (DPW will review if you are requesting to plant 2). You can only plant a tree from the list here. Once you've submitted your permit request, DPW will review and then contact you to inform if your permit has been approved.

I, the undersigned, upon approval of this permit, hereby agree to abide by the term and conditions of this permit and to cease work immediately if required by the Director of Public Works or his/her representative. I also acknowledge that I have read and understand all relevant sections of the City's tree ordinance.

The permit holder is required to notify the Public Works office (248) 546-2514 if the work for which application is made changes in any way, or will not be completed for any reason
